Top Ten

The top ten reasons Ostrich People give for not getting involved.
10. I'm too busy
9. I can't make a difference
8. I hate politics
7. All politicians are the same
6. Politics are boring
5. I don't know enough
4. I don't want to offend anybody
3. It's a waste of time, time I don't have time to waste (see #10)
2. I don't like all that fussing and arguing
1. I don't care

The sad fact is while they make all kinds of excuses the main reason most people don't get involved is they just don't care. Oh they vote, but they have no real understanding of the issues or the candidates. They catch a commercial or two during their nightly tv shows, or weekend ballgames. Then they go to the polls and vote based in those few ads. The truth or validity of those ad's is irrelavent to them. Thus here we are.
The religious right has caught onto the lack of interest by Mr & Mrs I'm-too-busy-and-don't-care, and they're taking full advantage of it.
Bush & Co know this. That's why they pick a spot in the road and stand there.
So, what can those of us who DO care, do about it? Frankly I don't know. Apathy is a hard foe to battle.

Unbelieveable

Rove: White House 'strongly' behind DeLay
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House stands "strongly" behind Tom DeLay amid ethical questions over the House majority leader's fund- raising and overseas trips, deputy chief of staff Karl Rove said Monday."

Tom DeLay's House of Scandle
This is the man the White House consider's close ally and is standing strongly behind? This is the party that people of higher values voted for?

Every decent, self-respecting Republican in this country should be on the phone, flooding the White House with irate demands that the President and his White House cronies stand up for decency and truth. Like the God fearing, ethical, moral superior Christians they (W & Co.) claim to be.
*******

Forgive me, I had a blond moment there. I forgot, there are so few good decent Republicans that actually give a damn, they couldn't tie up the phone lines to MY house much less the White House.

I display this ribbon because I feel as if I have entered a period of mourning. Mourning for my loss of trust, and faith. In our election process, and our government. Mourning for the freedoms we have already lost and those I fear we will loose in the near future. More about Black
