I am glad to see the Dixie Chicks finally got have their say. I am so very proud of them for not giving in to the pressure. I watched their interview on Primetime and it was great. You go girls!!!

There's also a great article about them on the CNN website.

"The pressure coming from the government and big business to enforce conformity of thought concerning the war and politics goes against everything that this country is about - namely freedom. Right now, we are supposedly fighting to create freedom in Iraq, at the same time that some are trying to intimidate and punish people for using that same freedom here at home."

This is a portion of a statement on Bruce Springsteen's website. If you would like to read the entire statement click the link below:

Bruce Springsteen Website

It's not just the government and big business. The media has jumped on the bandwagon. People like Bill O'Rielly think that they and the people who agree with them are the only ones entitled to have an opinion. Why is it that Mr O'Rielly thinks his opinion is so much more important that Martin Sheen's, Tim Robbins', Susan Saradon's or Barbara Striesand's. He is nothing more than a 3rd rate celebrity himself.

If there is anyone out there reading this (and I don't know why I think there would be). Would you please explain to me , why is it everywhere I go I see these signs that say "Pray for our troops, while they are fighting for us" or something similiar to that? How is it that the troops in Iraq (and THOSE are the troops that everyone is refering to) are fighting for us? I am not saying that what they are doing in not important. Or that it is not dangerous and that they don't need our prayers. I just don't see how they are fighting for us. Besides, the troops in Iraq are not the only troops overseas that are in dangerous situations. What about the troops in Afghanistan? Or South Korea? Or even Turkey for that matter. We have troops in many locations all over the world, they all need our prayers.
Am I being a tad bit picky here? Yeah, maybe so. I guess it's just that everything about this war pisses me off.

I see where good ole Newt Gingrich is now saying that the State Department has failed at diplomacy. Well duh! Successful diplomacy seldom results in war. I wonder if he is the beginning of the rats jumping from a sinking ship? One can only hope!

I am sick of hearing about Iraq . The War is over, well the fighting part anyway. Everyone has said so. We won. So lets move on. Enough already. Everytime I try to check out the news, all I see is Iraq, Iraq,Iraq I am sick of it.

I see in this article on the Political Aims website, where the Catholic Church is threatening to excommunicate politicans who support abortion. This would be the same Catholic Church that has harbored child molesters for the past 25+ years.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

The President who campaigned on a platform of a humble foreign policy has instead begun implementing a foreign policy characterized by dominance, arrogance and intimidation. The tidal wave of support and goodwill that engulfed us after the tragedy of 9/11 has dried up and been replaced by undercurrents of distrust, skepticism and hostility by many who had been among our closest allies.

This quote is from an article by Howard Dean at the Common Dreams News Center
I agree Mr. Dean. I only wish I had said it first!

Here's a very interesting site I found;
The American Prospect

I am relived to see there are still some journalist and reporters out there who are seeking the truth and still newspapers that are willing to print it.
God Bless America
