We've Only Just Begun

I see the mainstream media has finally taken notice of that rotten fucking liar Mr. Drudge's nasty little gossip tidbit about John Kerry. I am surprised that a few of them actually seem uncomfortable giving this any attention at all. In fact the two that I saw last night, made a point of stressing 'this is purely gossip right now with no actual proof...' One even remarked "We are only talking about it because everyone else is talking about it, and it's a slow news week."
This leads me to believe as Green Voice Mail says "Big darkness, soon come." Keep your eyes open." I believe there are NO limits to what extent the puppet master (Karl Rove) will go to, if he thinks he may be in danger of losing his comfy spot in that big Oval Office. John Kerry may wish Howard Dean had gotten the Democratic nomination before this is over with. Strap on your seat belts folks this is shaping up to be one hell of a roller coaster ride.

ps: Am I the only one who thinks that Kerry bears a striking resemblence to Abe Lincoln? Speaking of Abe, and regarding the aforementioned 'gossip', he once said "People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like". Harpers Magazine wrote :"Filthy story teller, despot, liar, thief, braggart, buffoon, usurper, monster, ignoramus Abe, old scoundrel, perjurer, swindler, tyrant, field-butcher, land-pirate." about the man we now call "Honest Abe" . Hmm must have been a filthy rotten liar Matt Drudge back then too.

So What?

How many times will the Bush supporters have to say "so what" before they realize they are beginning to sound like Clinton supporters when they ignored defended Clinton's blow job big lie?
Democrats and Clinton pundits everywhere were pounded shamelessly by Republicans and the media because they chose to believe that a man receiving fellatio from a consenting adult didn't rise to the level of impeachment. Even if that man was the President, and the fellatio did take place in the Oval Office. Tacky, yes. Betrayal of the trust of his wife and their marriage vows yes. An impeachable offense, NO. We were fools , we were immoral, we were blind. The man LIED!!! Bad dog, no biscuit.
Now, the shoe is on the other foot. It started with the so called election of 2000. "So what" if thousands of voters in Florida were confused by the ballots and ended up voting for the wrong guy. "So what" if thousands of ballots were never counted. "So what" if the Supreme Court halted the counting of ballots. Bush was appointed won. Get over it.
Then came Sept 11th. From the beginning it was generally known that the terrorist that fateful day were Al Quida operatives. The President said for all the world to hear "Make no mistake, we will hunt you down, we will find you and you will pay...". "So what" if we are no closer to finding Osama Bin Laden than we were then. We got Saddam didn't we? "So what" if there is no proof that Saddam had any connection to the terrorist of 9/11? He was a really bad guy and he had Weapons of Mass Destruction. "So what" if we haven't found any such weapons or the evidence that there ever were any such weapons. "So what" he was a really bad guy and he needed taking out. "So what" if there a lots of 'bad guys' (including one nasty fellow just south of us named Castro), we got Saddam.
Now it's Bush's service, or lack thereof, in the National Guard. "So what" if after months and months of avoiding the issue the White House finally releases "torn documents" to verify that George W. Bush did indeed fulfill his obligation to the National Guard. "So what" if these documents are only bearly decipherable, and are incomplete? "So what" if Bush may indeed have "fulfilled his obligation," as he says, but only because he had essentially been relieved of any further obligation after his transfer to ARF as a result of disciplinary action. "So what" if we can only confirm this IF Bush is genuinely willing to release his entire service record , including the disciplinary action that presumably led to his transfer to ARF. "So what", that was 30 years ago.
"So what" if this is a man who is responsible for sending our young men and women off to fight and die in a war that he lied to us mislead us about to begin with.
Is it their fierce loyalty? Or is it their stubborn pride? You know what I say? "So what"? Either way, get over it already and admit, George W. Bush is as much a liar as Bill Clinton ever was. The bottom line? When Bill lied no one died. George's lies are killing people. Everyday the count goes higher.

Another One Bites the Dust

Well it looks like John Kerry has two more victories in his pocket and that retired Gen. Wesley Clark will be announcing his withdrawl from the race for the Democratic Nominee, from his hometown , Little Rock , Arkansas tomorrow morning.
The time is coming when we all are going to have make some hard choices. I know John Kerry is not the man that many in the blogosphere wanted to see on the Democratic ticket come November. Three months ago I would have predicted that Howard Dean would enjoy a sweeping victory in the primaries and hoped for a repeat performance in the general election. No one is more surprised than myself at John Kerry's come from behind rally. Clealy John's message is reaching people. Something about him and his campaign is speaking to what people want. That is the most important thing here. We all need to remember that.
I don't know what went wrong for Howard Dean. Maybe it was that infamous 'Iowa Scream'. Personally I think that the media way over estimated the power of the Internet. Yes, Dean was the 'Internet Candidate', but there are still lots of homes out there that don't have internet access. Of those that do, in many of them the computer is used primarialy by teenagers. Dean had the support of the bloggers and the blogospher, but that didn't translate into votes. And votes are what count.
So, onto the convention and then the election. No matter who you have supported in the past, now you must ask yourself "Where do we go from here?". Do I stick to my guns and vote for some third party pundit who hasn't a hope of winning? Do I just give up and refuse to vote period? Or do I bite the bullet and realize that the fight to take back my country has on just begun? Personally I opt for the ladder. I will give John Kerry my full support. I will talk to friends and neighbors. I will knock on doors and talk to strangers. I will pass out flyers. I will donate to his campaign, even if it's only $25. I will do everything I can to encourage everyone I meet, to vote, and to vote for John Kerry on November 2nd. Because regardless of how much I would have loved to see Dean (well personally I would rather have seen Edwards) taking that oath of office next January, the one thing I DO NOT want to see is George W. Bush on that podium.
Independents, Democrats, The Green Party, we all have to come together now. We have an election to win.
Ohua!

Ahhh Woodward and Bernstein
According to edwardpig , Kevin Drum must be a desendant of at least one of them.
Since the media , big business and the Bushes are all in bed together these days it's up to bloggers to be the voice of truth and the investigative journalist. Great job Kevin!

The UnFair and UnBalanced Media
Just a few weeks ago, every where on the internet, and from the media, all I could hear was trash talking about Howard Dean. Dean was a hot-tempered, little man, who didn't have the brains or skill it took to be President. There were other Democratic candidates who would better represent the party. Primarily Lieberman and Gephart. Then Gephart threw in the towel and threw his support behind Dean. Although it didn't help Dean, in fact it appears to have hurt more than helped. Now Lieberman has jumped ship and he's thrown his support to Kerry. So, I shouldn't be surprised to see the sudden onslaught of Kerry trashing. I've learned more about Kerry in the past week than I have in the entire time he's been running.
I can understand the Republicans point. After all if they want the status quo to remain, then they have to smear, and slander the 'other guy'. That's politics.
What I don't understand is the attitude of the media. CBS has given up all pretense of being unbiased. They don't even bother to try and defend their slanted presentations. Same for Fox. So much for fair and balanced. The Kerry bashing is in full force. But, do you see or hear anyone trashing Dubya? Nope. Nada. Not a word. The spin that is being put on the war is mind boggling. Everyone has decided that if there were no WMD's, well so what, Iraq needed a regime change anyway. It turns out that the Medicare plan supported and pushed by the President is going to cost millions of dollars MORE than what he represented. Oh, no big deal. We'll just increase the deficit a little more. Of course it's never Dubya's fault. The CIA, or FBI, or somebody didn't get their intelligence reports right. The accounting people failed to 'inform' the Prez of ALL the little nitpicky things that would raise the Medicare plan well above it's orginal cost. It's always someone elses fault. Even if he is the President, he isn't to blame for people not getting their facts straight. So what if the website for the White House has a motto that says 'the buck stops here'. It's not his fault. He has to depend on the people around him.
I seem to remember when some people were commenting that Dubya wasn't the man in charge, he was just the front man. It was the people behind the scenes that were making all the decisions. Republicans everywhere were adamant, the President, was very much the man in charge. He listened to his advisers, but he and he alone made the final decisions. He was nobody's puppet. Now, all of a sudden, when the proverbial shit is hitting the fan, he's not responsible. It's all those other people .
What I want to know is which is it? Is he the puppet, or the man in charge? If he's the puppet , then stand up and admit it. Let the American people decide if they want Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, John Ashcroft, and Don Rumsfield running their country. If he's the man in charge, then stand up and face the music. He lied, he mislead, he made the mistakes. He's responsible for the mess we are in. Make your choice, which is it? You can't have it both ways.
