The War Against the Poor
It wasn’t until after President Bush signed the bill in front of a 98 percent white audience at the White House (if you don’t believe me, look at the wide angle picture of the signing ceremony in The New York Times), that someone read the fine print and found out that working people mostly got the shaft.
The assumption in the whole tax debate has been that, sure, the wealthy will benefit the most (If you earn, say, a million a year, you can expect back about $35,000) but that there’s something in it for everyone. . On its Web site last week, the Republican National Committee crowed: “Every taxpayer wins under the new tax bill.” This is simply untrue. An estimated 5 million American taxpayers will get zero, nada, zip.
Which just goes to show that the White House and Capitol Hill Republicans just don’t care a whole lot about helping waitresses and janitors.
Does that surprise me? Nope, nada, I have known it for a long time.
Not that it matters now.
Needle in damage done.
At this point, I am just hoping that the White House and the Republican Party don't decide that we poor folks have weapons of mass destruction.

I have come to the conclusion that 75% of the American people are either as gullible as sheep, blind, stupid, or grossly apathetic.
We are suppose to be a country of well educated, savvy, well informed people. Yet a small group of pompass, arrogant, self-righteous and sometimes down right deceitful (more often than not) media journalist (??) are telling the vast majority of Americans what they should think, and how they should feel. And, Americans are listening! Following the lead of people who are in the business of 'spin doctoring'.
I have come to believe that the media's primary role is trying to control, terrorize, and restrain the individual. Even as we live in a country where individual freedom is touted as the politically correct philosophy, the media, especially broadcast media,works unrelentingly against individuality and punishes and incarcerates the individual mind. Freedom of speech is for those in the media, and even then only those who agree with the opinions of the majority.
Americans (an I do mean Americans, because Canadians, & Europeans don't seem to suffer from this affliction) are sitting back passively and allowing the mass media to take over our country. Either they just don't "get it", or they just don't care.
Wake up America!
Those in the media will and do
LIE.
Just look at the recent debacle at the NYTimes, and they are one of the better newspapers in the country.
The reporters, news journalist, and program host at FOXNews, MSNBC,CNN ,NBC,CBS,ABC and your local T.V. stations and newspapers are not
Gods
They will lie to you, to further their own self-serving agenda, or that of their chosen politicians or political party.
